Hometown: I come from a small hill station in the North of India called Kasauli, which is known for its serene and pristine surroundings.
Other Interests: Reading, mentoring young hoteliers and watching cricket.
Career Journey: My journey started with Hyatt in 1989 and I never looked back since then. I worked at Regency, Grand and opened first “Hyatt “ hotel at international location Abu Dhabi, which is in Guianese book of record as “world’s furthest leaning man-made tower in the world” and now happy to be part of the Park family.
Your best travel memory: … When we took our son to Malaysia for a figure skating competition where he came first and we celebrated his victory as a family by travelling around the country from Kuala Lumpur to the tranquil shores of Penang passing by the Genting Highlands.
A day in the life of Ashwini Kumar: I love facing challenges, listening to staff and leading from front. I also enjoy meeting both happy and not so happy guests … I can probably say from experience that most of these difficult guests I encountered over the years became good friends still today.
Things I love about Park Hyatt Jeddah: It’s exclusivity, personalised service, serenity, great architecture and luxury.
