Concierge

Muhammed Imran
Park Hyatt Jeddah Concierge

I have been a concierge for 5 years and loved every day of it. It has enriched my life in so many ways but most importantly the joy it gives me to help my guests create lasting memories.

What's the most important thing you learned about travel?
It is the privilege of having the experience to immerse yourself, learn about different cultures and explore the country that you are visiting. As a concierge I usually plan ahead my travel activities in hand with the help of my concierge colleagues, especially when it comes to cities that I am visiting for the first time. I prefer to call before I visit so that they can share their knowledge and let them take care of me the way I take care of my guests.

What is your favourite cultural place to visit from your hotel?
We are surrounded by the greatest landmarks and museums but my favourite would be Al- Balad. This historical area of Jeddah consists of houses with old designs and architecture that is a true, authentic form of art. The most popular and the oldest building still standing is Al Naseef House leaving behind life stories and a beautiful past that once filled these homes.

You have $15 to spend on lunch, where would you eat? If you had $500?
Some of my favorite local places are Caffe Aroma where I usually have the irresistible Aroma Chili Fries and Fettuccine Aroma. For a late night bite I like to spend time enjoying my Hazelnut latte along with a blueberry cheesecake at Starbucks.

What have guests been asking about lately? What kind of experiences are they looking for?
With Jeddah being known as the bride of the Red Sea, our guests are very interested in water sports and recreational activities. Scuba Diving and snorkelling is a favorite activity amongst locals and tourists where a vast array of underwater sites can be explored.  Some travellers look for adventurous activities such as camping, hiking and mountain climbing.

If you could learn to create one dish at the hotel restaurant, what would it be?
This would definitely be learning how to cook lasagne to perfection from our Italian Chef, Alessandro Sandrolini.

Tell us about a rare and unique experience you have curated for guests in your location?
We have a range of curated experiences available to our guests, which include a tour to Fakhieh Aquarium, a city tour into Old Jeddah and a yacht or boat trip along the beautiful coastlines of Jeddah where they can spend the day fishing and/or diving.

Is there one other Park Hyatt hotel and resort in particular you love or are dying to visit?
I am hoping to visit Park Hyatt New York and have the chance to see the breath taking views of Central Park and New York skyline.
